Hello, my name is Elliana. I am from Liverpool in England which is most famous for its football teams and music such as the Beatles. It is usually very windy and rainy so Hong Kong has been a nice adjustment! I have a twin sister, a younger sister who just started secondary school, and a younger brother who is in P5. Since moving to Hong Kong in August, I quickly fell in love with the scenery here. I have done some hikes such as Lion Rock and Quarry Bay to Repulse Bay, but as the weather cools down, I look forward to doing many more. I have really enjoyed exploring some local islands such as Cheung Chau and Lamma. My favourite part so far has been working at S.K.H Chu Oi Primary and meeting all of the incredibly talented and hard-working students.

My biggest advice is to have more confidence and keep trying. Make mistakes and learn from them.

Hello. My name is Daniel John Murphy. I am from Australia. My first name is Daniel. My middle name is John. And my last name is Murphy. Students in Australia call me Mr. Murphy and students in Hong Kong call me Daniel. I can speak English and Japanese. I have lived in HK and worked at our school for just over 14 years. This is my 15th year!

In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, fishing and playing online chess. I sometimes enjoy eating out. I usually like to eat at restaurants in Soho. My favourite food is steak with hot chips. Sometimes I like to cook BQQ pork at home. It is very delicious.

In Australia, I enjoy gardening. I have an orange tree, a lemon tree and two passion fruit trees in my garden. The passion fruit is very tasty. My father likes to grow cantaloupe in my garden too. They are very sweet.

Learning a second language is a great way to meet new people and make great friends. Learning a second language is a treasure and a valuable skill you will have forever. Try your best, and have no regrets.
 

Hello everyone! My name is Ian. I am from Minnesota in the USA. In Minnesota, it is very cold and it snows often. In winter, I like to play in the snow or go ice fishing. Ice fishing is when you fish on top of a frozen lake. This winter, I want to explore Hong Kong and go hiking.

In Minnesota, I live with my parents, my brother, and my sister. We live in a small city. My house is next to a corn farm. I am very happy to live in Hong Kong. I like the warm weather and good food. I am excited to tutor English this year. I can help tutor English at recess, lunch, or after school. During recess, we can play fun English games and do crafts! When you see me in the corridor please say “hello”. Don’t be shy! Let’s practise and speak English together.
